From the Trio Gitano website - 2005-2006

20.09.06 - Hands Off ...

The TG performance at Oundle on July 18th will unfortunately be the last trio appearance for the near future. Sophie has had a very tricky few months, suffering with Dequervain's Tenosynovitis, a condition that causes pain on the inside of the wrist and forearm just above the thumb, and also a hernia on the muscle.

This has made playing the wider-necked guitars very difficult and painful. She is undergoing mandatory rest from prolonged playing, physiotherapy, injections and a small operation on the wrist. We hope she makes a swift recovery! Sophie will still be playing the smaller-necked bluegrass guitar with the excellent Toy Hearts.

However, Sam and Jamie will still be performing live, both as a duo and as part of the new TG Collective featuring some very splendid musicians on trumpets, flute, violin, tenor sax, clarinet, double bass and percussion! Check out the new TG Collective website for the latest gigs and info. Thanks for your support

20.09.06 - Summer Breeze ...

Thanks to all who supported us over the summer festival season ... we enjoyed some splendid gigs at the Lichfield Festival, the Oundle Festival (despite Sam's motor blowing up en route) and also the Spice of Life, London. Special thanks to Bryan Corbett and Ed Johnston, who appeared with us in the fine location of the grounds of Mary Arden's House, Stratford, and Ray Butcher, who performed with Sam and Jamie in Bewdley.
